Announcing a full Permaculture Design Course to be held in Westcliff on Sea this Spring.

The full 72 hour Permaculture Design Course is a vital stage in the development of understanding of permaculture ethics, principles, design processes and implementation techniques providing essential skills for the post-peak oil world.

Held over 5 weekends at a venue less than an hour from central London, we will be running this course in partnership with Southend in Transition, Milton Community Partnership and Growing Together

Dates: 7 – 8 May
21 – 22 May
4 – 5 June
18 – 19 June
2 – 3 July

Times: 10 am – 6 pm, with optional additional sessions and/or social events on the Saturday evenings

Accomodation: options for attendees from outside of the Southend area are available, more details to follow

Cost: £450 – £300 depending on income, some concessionary places available, please enquire to Milton Community Partnership (see below) £50 secures a place

The Children’s Food Campaign needs you!

·         Improve school food (there’s still a lot more to do)

·         Increase the teaching of cooking and food-growing at school

·         Bring back water fountains to places of play

This weekend introduction to permaculture will explore alternatives to lifestyles based on the exploitation of the earth’s resources, including sustainable design principles, permaculture ethics, organic gardening, creating community, ‘hands on’ practical experience and more with a particular focus on urban solutions.

We are now in a process of expanding the study to include as many allotment, veg patch, and home-growing households in East Anglia and Greater London as possible. The study will take place over a year with participants opting in or out of answering a 5 minute survey once a month. In appreciation for their time, participants will be entered into a prize drawing for one of several gardening supply prizes. All surveys will be accessed online, no participant information will be shared with any outside party, and all information will remain anonymous.
