Roof now on
We’ve been away on our holidays to South Devon as well as working on the garden office when I’ve been able to fit in the time, so there has been progress, but I hav’nt had an opportunity to update the blog until this morning. I’m pleased to say thatthe roof is now on, although it was a bit of a race against time getting the roofing felt underlay put on before we went away to provide a bit of basic protection from the elements. Still undecided what to finish the roof with, I’m thinking cedar shingles at the moment, but need to do a bit more research…
Anyway, here’s the latest batch of pictures…

A celebration of DIY reskilling, handbuilt shelters, low impact structures, shed architecture and tiny houses, and a riposte to the disempowering idea that self-build projects need to be expensive or 'Grand'!
I’ve not beaten you yet mate - still got to get the fascia on mine - which probably won’t arrive til Tues/Weds. - Am totally loving the immediate charm of your shed (tres rustique, as the locals always said of my attempts in France) - that shot thru the trees makes it look like it was always there, and the windows are a master-stroke - like an artwork. I can’t wait to see how the solar panels hook up - I’ve been up on my roof in the sunshine and you can feel the heat just sitting on the felt - I reckon that’s enough to power my laptop easily… So, race on?
