Looks like you guys had a blast makin' it! I'd love to someday see a book in "pimped-out" igloos- as I have to imagine that even in Inuit and northern cultures, there would exist and urge to build something above and beyond the run-of-the-mill igloo.

Hey Graham
REAL cool shed- love the interior shots- and the drilled out log chunk/pencil holder's a great/simple idea- I've made some cool birdhouses with the same concept in the past. I ESPECIALLY dig the diversity and array of windows that you've incorporated into the structure- it gives it HUGE character. You should be damn proud. Looks like an ultra-cozy and relaxing work space...

Only jokng John, the Yes album covers are indeed absolutely beautiful. Iused to have them as posters on my bedroom wall when I was about 15, especially liked the 'Yessongs' paintings with the bits of the planet ariving on the new planet.

Hi Ruth, thanks for the kind comments - re heating - I bought a little propane gas heater off of ebay, however it seems the Post Office have lost it in transit which is highly annoying! However last night I was in there with just 6 candles for light and these alone seemed to warm it up quite quickly! Probably because its actually a very small space and quite well insulated.

Thanks for posting that Graham. You've kind of set the challenge of creating humble homes in Eco-Hamlets, but some of them may contain homes rather closer to mainstream "eco-houses". It all depends on the site, the planners, what's there already, and of course what the residents want.

I'm starting to plan my low-impact bedsit to be created inside a 200 year old stone house, and hope it will definitely qualify as humble!

Hi Christine, this sounds exactly the sort of project Southend in Transition would want to support as we are very much about supporting what is local, have a look at the website www.southendintransition.org.uk and make contact with them! Cheers graham
